Cass County commissioners reassign committee seats after District 3 vacancy

Administrator Josh Stevenson told the Board that several committee seats became vacant following the unexpected passing of District 3 Commissioner Rusty Lilyquist. Commissioners volunteered to serve in specific roles and the Board approved the updated appointments by unanimous vote.
Specifically, Commissioner Rick Haaland volunteered for the Citizen Budget Committee, Sourcewell representative and the historical society board; Commissioner Neal Gaalswyk volunteered for the Extension Committee, Planning Commission and Pine River Watershed Policy Committee; and Commissioner Scott Bruns volunteered to serve on the Law Library and Workforce Housing Committee. The Board approved those appointments, and separately appointed County Engineer Darrick Anderson to represent Cass County on the AMC Transportation & Infrastructure Policy Committee for 2026.
