Director Joseph Tart told the Park Board that Segment E of the Swedish Immigrant Regional Trail requires several administrative steps before construction: letters and permits for the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), Minnesota Environmental Quality Board review, Natural Heritage Information System checks, Environmental Assessment Statements, and land approval certifications.
Tart said that after these steps are completed "there should be no issue to continue the work to get this segment completed." The board did not record a formal vote on Segment E at this meeting; staff will proceed with the permitting sequence as required.
