Park Board selects vendors for SIRT Segment D: $79,652 culvert; tree clearing to start Feb. 23

The Chisago County Park Board received a detailed update on the Swedish Immigrant Regional Trail (SIRT) Segment D at its Feb. 19 meeting. Director Joseph Tart said Rinker Materials' proposal for a box culvert was chosen at $79,652 and that "the box culvert will be ordered and then delivered when needed, around August 2026." The board also selected Precision Land and Tree LLC's quote of $31,300 for tree clearing.
Director Tart told the board that tree clearing for Segment D will start on Feb. 23 and that "all trees in the Segment D route need to be removed before 4/14." He also said the trail alignment "will now have to go around the transmission lines rather than through them like initially planned," a change that affects construction staging. Staff will solicit project management service quotes for Segment D in March or April.
