Commission hears liaison reports; passes routine procedural motions and cancels Feb. 19 work session

Ex officio County Commissioners Rick Greene and Dan Dahlberg provided liaison reports during the meeting. Greene reported the retirement of Health & Human Services Director Bob Benson and that Veterans Services Officer Bryan Brown had retired and the position has been filled. Dahlberg said he would attend the Explore Minnesota Tourism Conference on Feb. 11–12 to look for tourism opportunities for Chisago County, and noted county concerns about potential unfunded mandates at the state and federal level.
The Commission also made several unanimous procedural decisions. Motions by John Sutcliffe approved the agenda and January 8 minutes, and Chip Yeager moved to accept all materials into the record (each passed 7-0). Later in the meeting the Commission passed motions to support the Lower St. Croix Watershed Partnership's review of county ordinances (motion by Chris DuBose, second by Jim McCarthy), to cancel the special work session scheduled for Feb. 19 (motion by Chip Yeager, second by Eric Leivian), and to adjourn the meeting at 8:08 p.m. (motion by DuBose, second by Sutcliffe); all passed 7-0.
