Commissioners hire Kyler Construction to manage fountain restoration and carport project

Commissioner Jason Shanks presented a proposal from Kyler Construction Group to manage both the courthouse fountain restoration and construction of an open carport/garage intended to shelter county vehicles, the OSU Extension trailer, and maintenance equipment. Assessor Janell Leaming asked whether the parking location was final and requested the garage be placed in the Administration Building parking lot instead of the northwest corner of the courthouse parking lot.
District Attorney Brian Hermanson noted the Kyler proposal did not include a completion date or time frame; Commissioner Shanks said he would mark the proposal to expire Aug. 1, 2026. The board voted to hire Kyler Construction Group as project manager; DA Hermanson "approved as to form" before the motion carried unanimously.
