County to accept $400,000 Great Lakes Restoration grant for Milwaukee River Oxbow reconnection

Planning & Parks Director Struck presented a revenue budget amendment to recognize $400,000 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service via the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. The funds will support reconnection of the Milwaukee River to historic floodplain, wetlands and an oxbow as part of the CTH W road reconstruction and restoration project in the Village of Saukville. The committee approved and forwarded the amendment to the Finance Committee.
The motion was moved by Vice-Chairperson B. Ross and seconded by Supervisor K. Schoessow. The items were recorded as approved and forwarded to the Finance Committee for formal budget action.
