Nobles County approves union contracts, 3% COLA and raises temporary worker pay to $18

The Board approved the Licensed Essential Deputies Union, Courthouse Library and Human Services union contracts following negotiation meetings; settled contracts include a 3.00% COLA for 2025. Separately, the Board approved a non-union compensation plan applying a 3.00% COLA across the countys pay table. The Board also approved raising starting pay for temporary and seasonal workers from $17.50 to $18.00 per hour for 2025.
Commissioners discussed pay equity and alignment with a wage study; the non-union plan was introduced to union leadership during negotiations. The approvals were recorded by motion and second in the meeting minutes.
