Nobles County adopts 5-year bridge replacement plan to prioritize eligible structures

Nobles County commissioners on Dec. 5 adopted a 5-year bridge replacement plan designed to prioritize eligible County, County State-Aid Highway (CSAH) and township bridge structures and to position those structures for state aid funding when it becomes available.
County Highway Department staff presented a map of eligible bridges and the department's prioritization approach. The plan is intended to create a queue that MnDOT and state aid programs can use to select bridges for replacement as funding is allocated. The board approved Resolution 202452 (moved by Gene Metz; seconded by Justin Ahlers).
County staff said the five-year plan helps the county coordinate requests for state aid and clarifies which structures are candidates for replacement as funds arise. No dollar totals for the program were provided in the minutes.
