Supervisors choose Route 211 site for proposed recreation center; EDA offered Goodrich Road as alternative

EDA staff reported on Feb. 23 that Page County Recreation Coordinator Andrew Good discussed a proposed recreation and wellness center during a Board of Supervisors meeting on Feb. 2 and presented the option of partnering with the EDA to use EDA-owned land off Goodrich Road in Stanley. At their Feb. 17 meeting, supervisors voted to issue a request for quotes for a design-build for the project at county-owned property off Route 211 in Luray.
Director Nina Fox relayed Good’s appreciation to the EDA for its willingness to consider partnership. The EDA did not take a formal vote on the partnership at its Feb. 23 meeting; the supervising board’s site decision puts the design-build solicitation on the Route 211 parcel.
