Page County schedules April 6 public hearing on proposed nuisance ordinance changes

Acting Zoning Administrator Cassie Richards reviewed proposed amendments to Chapter 80, Nuisances, including revisions to definitions, a proposed new Section 80-2 (Deposit of noxious matter and junk restricted), and updates to violations and penalties. Richards asked the Board to schedule a public hearing so residents would have an opportunity to comment before any ordinance changes are adopted.
At the March 2 work session Supervisor Ryan Cubbage moved that the Board hold a public hearing on the proposed changes at the April 6, 2026 work session and direct staff to provide notice in accordance with Section 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia; Supervisor Jeff Vaughan seconded and the motion carried 6-0. The Board did not adopt ordinance language at the session and will receive public input at the April hearing before taking further action.
