The commission resolved an unfinished business item to award a bid for two 2026 Chevrolet Tahoes for use in the Somerset Sheriff’s Office to Hight Chevrolet of Skowhegan for a total not to exceed $117,668.00. The motion, made by Commissioner John Alsop and seconded by Commissioner Scott Seekins, carried 5-0.
Finance and operations reporting also included a shared public bid that the town of The Forks publishes for winter maintenance of Moxie Pond Road; U/T Coordinator David Spencer said contractor Andy Webb submitted a three-year bid totaling $372,430.90 (2027–2029). Spencer will review the bid with The Forks to determine the amount the county will be responsible for covering.
