The Somerset County Commission voted 4-0 on April 1 to authorize the 2026 Maine County Emergency Management Mutual Aid Agreement (Resolution 26-54). The action follows an update presented by EMA Director Sara Bickford, who described participation in a multi-county training program and an updated mutual-aid agreement for Commissioners' consideration.
Commissioner John Alsop moved to authorize the agreement and Vice Chair Scott Seekins seconded; the motion carried unanimously. Bickford also reported that FEMA funding remains on hold and said the county would absorb any related revenue shortfall in the general fund unless and until FEMA funds are disbursed.
