Tax Administrator Mark Walker asked the Board for permission to advertise delinquent tax liens for the 2025 tax year and to extend the advertising window from the statutory 30 days to 60 days because of inconsistencies and refund activity related to the recent revaluation. "They want to advertise those liens starting April 1st and run through June 1st 2026," Walker said. The Board approved the extension unanimously on a motion by Commissioner Casey Johnson.
Walker also presented a list of tax releases and explained the department had been unable to contact some taxpayers due to death, bankruptcy, or business closure. The Board approved tax releases presented at the meeting totaling $46,089.72; Walker said the total including prior releases was $67,486.15. The Board asked staff to provide a cut‑off figure as of March 31 so uncollected taxable amounts can be reported at the April meeting.
