Brandon Turner and Ann Glave provided several outreach and events updates at the Jan. 14 meeting. Staff launched a new economic development website that includes a page for the EDA; Ms. Glave is working on sponsorships for the Hanover Farm Tour; and planning for the 2026 Heart of Hanover Business Awards has begun, with nominations and voting scheduled to start in the spring.
Turner also noted that Senator Mark Warner is scheduled to speak about business issues at the Atlee Library on Jan. 16 and that 45–50 people had registered. In other administrative updates, Mr. Armon Smith said Ms. Landyn Howard is preparing a comparison of tax rates for Richmond-area localities to be shared with the EDA. The items were informational and no board action was recorded at the meeting.
