The committee agreed that inviting School Board members to the CSB Board meeting could be a useful forum for them to hear public concerns and open lines of communication. Mary Butler Eggleston offered to contact Mr. Davis to ask whether, as chair of the Board of Supervisors, he would be willing to invite and encourage School Board attendance at the CSB meeting.
Bret Schardein said he would first speak with Mr. Budesky about the idea and about the possibility of scheduling one or more meetings between Board of Supervisors and School Board members focused on school-based mental health services. The committee characterized these outreach steps as efforts to foster conversation and advocated that staff monitor both the local and state budget processes and report back on opportunities for targeted advocacy.
