Consultants tell Hanover EDA there's demand for higher-tier hotels and a conference facility north of I-64

Jeff Sadler of Complete Creative Economics and Juan Conde of Titan Property Advisors presented the Hanover Hotel Market Feasibility Study to the Economic Development Authority on Jan. 14, 2026. The consultants said the study found "there is need for tier 4 or higher hotels north of the I-64 interchange and close to the Henrico Sports and Events Center," and that the northern portion of the region could also support a meeting- or conference-type facility geared to large events.
The consultants explained their methodology and discussed four areas in Hanover County that were analyzed for hotel and convention potential. EDA Treasurer Carey Carlisle reported the EDA incurred one December expenditure for the Hotel Study. The EDA did not take formal action on the study but discussed future recommendations for attraction and next steps for implementation.
