PHED committee votes: holds and favorable recommendations, Sept. 4, 2025
Summary
At its Sept. 4 meeting the PHED committee held CB 62 and CB 50 for further work and recommended favorably on CB 47, CB 66 and CB 65 (draft 2 as amended); all recorded committee actions were unanimous (4-0).
The Planning, Housing and Economic Development Committee recorded the following formal actions on Sept. 4, 2025:
- CB 62 (administrative hearings): Motion to hold at administration's request. Motion carried 4-0.
- CB 47 (building code update): Motion to recommend favorably (draft as presented). Motion carried 4-0.
- CB 66 (streamlining PD procedures): Motion to recommend favorably on draft 2 (which includes immediate effective date). Motion carried 4-0.
- CB 50 (housing code investigative unit / JAG): Motion to hold for sponsor to work with the administration on amendments and finalize referral form. Motion carried 4-0.
- CB 65 (cannabis uses): Committee adopted signage and technical amendments, reconciled additional technical edits and moved a favorable recommendation on draft 2 as amended. Motion carried 4-0.
Each of the above items will proceed according to committee direction: held bills return after sponsor/administration negotiations; favorably recommended bills proceed to the full council for introduction and further action.
