CB 66, sponsored by Council member Olson, would amend the planning and development zoning map amendment requirements to remove certain filing requirements and permit submission of subsequent development applications under certain circumstances for planned development (PD) zones. The sponsor described the measure as a straightforward fix to reduce delays created by sequencing and land-record requirements.
Planning Director Lakeisha Hall told the committee the planning board considered the item on June 12 and issued a favorable recommendation. Hall said the change would streamline the approval process and that a favorable recommendation supports the county's affordable housing goals. The committee approved draft 2 — which makes the ordinance effective upon enactment — by a 4-0 vote.
