Palo Alto Supervisors set several drainage repair hearings and approve joint-district change orders with Kossuth County

Supervisors on July 7 set public hearings for repairs to Drainage Districts No. 61 Main Open, 80 Lower Main, 84 and 175 for Aug. 11, 2026 at 10 a.m., and for Joint 63 Main Open Ditch for Aug. 11, 2026 at 1 p.m. at the Election Center. The votes to set those hearing dates were carried unanimously.
Later in the meeting the board held a conference call with Kossuth County supervisors concerning Joint Drainage District PAK 1 Main Open Ditch. On that call Palo Alto and Kossuth officials approved Change Order #5 for $15,587.17 for additional pipe work and Pay Estimate #4 for $116,041.31 to Reutzel Excavating. The engineer’s completion report was accepted and a hearing on completion was set for Aug. 4, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the Kossuth County Boardroom.
