Clermont County commissioners advance Children Services levy to November ballot in 2–1 vote

The Clermont County Board of Commissioners voted 2–1 on July 23 to place a renewal and additional tax for Children Services on the November 2025 ballot.
Under Resolution Number 110-25 the Board authorized placement of a five-year renewal levy of 0.80 mill and an increase of 0.20 mill, amounting to a combined 1.00 mill if approved by voters, to support child welfare services. The levy was described in the resolution as first collectible in 2027 if approved by the electorate at the General Election on Nov. 4, 2025. The roll call recorded Commissioner Batchler and Commissioner Painter voting Yes and Commissioner Corcoran voting No.
The resolution cites Ohio Revised Code provisions governing the certification and placement of levies and memorializes the Board’s direction to request the County Auditor to certify matters in connection with the ballot measure. The motion to adopt the resolution was moved and seconded and adopted at the July 23 regular session.
Next steps: the Auditor will verify levy particulars for the ballot and county staff will proceed with statutory notifications. If voters approve the levy, collections would begin in calendar year 2027.
