Commissioners approve Juvenile Detention HVAC bid notice and release retainage for court expansion

The Facilities Management Department received Board approval to advertise for bids for the Juvenile Detention HVAC replacement. The legal notice will publish May 22, 2025, with a mandatory pre-bid meeting scheduled for May 29 and bids due June 26; Facilities staff said several HVAC units and in-building communication devices will be replaced and the gym system is included as an alternate bid.
Separately, the Board approved progress payment number 36 and release of retainage in the amount of $13,000 (plus any applicable interest earned) to Mark Spaulding Construction for completion of the Juvenile Court Expansion/Renovation project. Facilities staff reported the contractor’s work is complete except for a few minor details. The Board approved these items by roll-call vote with Commissioners Batchler and Painter voting in favor.
