County awards $2.08M contract for Legendary Trails sewer collection project

Clermont County approved the award of the Legendary Trails sanitary sewer collection system project located in Pierce Township to Unger Construction Ltd. for a total amount not to exceed $2,082,499.
Lyle Bloom of the Water Resources Department explained the subdivision currently uses individual drip irrigation systems (on-site septic-like systems) maintained by the County; those systems have reached end of life. Bloom said installing a low-pressure force main initially, with later conversion to conventional public sewer, is the most cost-effective approach for the neighborhood.
The Board also executed a contract for professional services with Ohio Valley Environmental Engineering, Inc. (dba Environmental Engineering Service) for construction administration services for the Legendary Trails project for an amount not to exceed $119,000, with services to be completed within 180 calendar days after notice to proceed.
The awards were approved by roll call with Commissioner Batchler and Commissioner Painter voting yes and Commissioner Corcoran absent.
