During the Oct. 27 work session staff reported that the current contract to operate the Fort Benning stray facility does not meet Fort Benning's updated operational requirements and would require additional staffing and services the county cannot provide without losing revenue. County staff recommended ending the contract; the item was proposed for the Nov. 4 regular meeting as a voting item.
County Manager Weaver told commissioners the county could not meet the new contract requirements without additional staff and that "we would only break even if at all." The board agreed to place the matter on the Nov. 4 meeting agenda for formal consideration.
