Carlton County opts into statewide opioid settlement framework and authorizes staff to sign participation documents

The Carlton County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution 26-027 expressing the county’s support for and agreement to the Minnesota Opioids State-Subdivision Memorandum of Agreement and authorizing participation in multistate settlements with opioid supply-chain defendants.
The resolution notes a May 4, 2026 deadline for certain local governments to sign onto multistate settlement agreements and authorizes the County Auditor/Treasurer, County Attorney, and other county staff to execute participation agreements and releases. The board’s resolution also states the county “supports and opts into all future multistate settlement agreements with opioid supply chain participants.”
