Commission approves multiple capital projects and contractor awards
Summary
Cusseta-Chattahoochee commissioners voted unanimously to put two road projects out to bid, award bids for a fishing dock, storage building, City Hall welcome center and dog-pound kennel additions, and declared two buildings surplus for demolition.
At its Oct. 7 meeting the commission approved a slate of capital projects and contractor awards covering roads, facilities and a dock project.
The board voted to solicit bids for paving on Riverbend Road and Liberty Hill Road. The commission also approved the only bid for the Riverbend fishing dock from Wahoo Dock; work on the dock will proceed once Corps of Engineers approvals and required dredging are coordinated. For facilities projects the commission approved slab and building contractors for a storage building at 215 McNaughton Street (Chattahoochee Concrete; North Carolina Carports), awarded the City Hall Welcome Center lower bid to Chattahoochee Concrete, and approved kennel-run additions for the Cusseta Dog Pound with concrete to Rock Solid Construction, fencing to United Fencing, and building to McGuire Buildings.
County Manager Thomas Weaver said of resurfacing work and pre-repair planning, "We would like the repair to be done before we resurface." All recorded votes on these items were unanimous at the Oct. 7 meeting.
