Commission authorizes Friendship Road resurfacing bid with striping and one coat

The commission authorized staff to put Friendship Road out to bid during the June 3 meeting. County Manager Thomas Weaver told the board the bid package will include one coat, striping and resurfacing; he said bids should open in late July and the commission could award a contract at its August meeting depending on contractor availability.
Commissioners noted additional local repairs, including potholes on Riverbend Road, and asked public works to prepare a short-term repair plan while awaiting more substantial projects. Commissioner Timothy Biddle said constituents had called about potholes on Riverbend Road and that public works was looking into interim repairs.
