The Unified Government awarded the Friendship Road 2025 LMIG resurfacing contract to Oxford Construction after bids were opened July 22, 2025 and reviewed by SOWEGA Engineering.
A SOWEGA tabulation attached to the meeting materials showed two responsive bids: Oxford Construction at $358,750 and Robinson Paving at $389,118.85. County staff presented the recommendation at the Aug. 5 regular meeting and the commission approved the low bidder by unanimous motion.
County Manager Tom Weaver said the bids were reviewed for completeness, math errors and compliance with solicitation requirements before the recommendation. The contracting decision will move forward to formal award and contract execution, after which the contractor will schedule work dates consistent with LMIG requirements.
Next steps: staff will return contract documents to the commission for final administrative signatures and will notify the winning bidder to begin pre-construction coordination.
