The Council then suspended the rules and adopted Ordinance No. 2026‑34, granting a one‑time waiver of enforcement of Codified Ordinance section 951.05 to permit beer and wine at Riverside Park during the 2026 Blossom Time Festival. Both measures passed by unanimous roll call vote.
Separately, Council deferred approval of the Lighting of the Greens event until police confirm a satisfactory security plan because of the event's growth in scale. Jamieson said staff will coordinate event logistics and that daily construction oversight is ongoing ahead of festival activities.
