Chagrin Falls reports payroll system switch and county tax timing change; dental renewal shows 6% increase

Mayor William Tomko delivered the Finance Director's report in Angela Gergye's absence, updating Council on several operational items.
"The Village's new payroll platform, Paylocity, went live on the April 17 payroll cycle with no major issues," Tomko said. He also said the county will stop providing property tax advances on the prior quarterly schedule; instead, payments will be distributed in March and August rather than advances in January, May, and July. The change was described as having minimal financial impact on the Village but more effect on school districts and townships.
Tomko told Council the Village is working with its prior health-care provider, 90 Degrees, to resolve internal claims-processing issues and that Benefits Administrator Taylor Oswell is assisting employees. He also reported Delta Dental presented a July 1 renewal reflecting a "six-percent increase," while the Delta Vision renewal carries no increase in cost.
