Resident urges mock town meeting to teach Rockport students civics

Tobin said he had run similar programs in other towns and offered the RCA's help along with the League of Women Voters, pointing committee members to an online example (rockboardcivicleague.org) and the Town of Clinton video model.
"I'm here to, first of all, praise you... And the next thing I wanted to ask you guys, has anyone ever thought that we could do a mock town meeting for the students?" Tobin said, offering volunteers and resources and noting his experience as an AP U.S. history teacher. Chair Kathy Riley and Superintendent Mark Branca thanked him and said staff would follow up. Tobin provided his contact and the committee indicated they would respond after the meeting.
