Superintendent Mark Branko presented the committee with a quarter-three progress update on his goals and described steps the administration is taking to report progress publicly and deliver next-year initiatives.
Branko summarized completion of the approved SDI work and said the district will "chunk" remaining presentations so the committee can review items in manageable segments. He listed upcoming presentations on MTSS, the instructional coach model, and curriculum review cycles, and described a new teacher-designed professional development cadence (including a district PD cycle called "purposeful and effective grading"). He also described improved external communications: refreshed district website content, more regular news submissions to the Gloucester Daily Times and a tighter cadence for principal communications.
Branko outlined induction program progress, noting the state requires three years of induction and this is his third year in the program. "The state requires 3 years. This is my 3rd year," he said, adding that the district will transition him out of induction coaching after the year completes. He also said he is exploring a partnership with Southern New Hampshire University to develop graduate-credit professional development courses taught locally by district staff.
