Council members said the driver sign‑off will help ensure each operator understands expectations and uses a GPS/tablet dispatch system provided by Erie County Department for the Aging. One member noted the policy borrowed dispatch best practices from the county and a sign‑off sheet will be used to document driver acknowledgement of procedures.
The motions to adopt both the policy and the driver section were moved, seconded and approved without roll call. Board members complimented the town attorney and staff for the policy drafting and said the program will expand service opportunities for residents who need transportation assistance.
