The Carlton County Board of Commissioners approved a multi-item consent agenda at its April 14, 2026 regular meeting, recording unanimous votes to adopt minutes, accept a lawful gambling permit and authorize several financial actions. The board approved claims for March 2026 totaling $4,490,040.27 (payments over $2,000 from 141 vendors totaling $4,297,206.56; payments under $2,000 from 440 vendors totaling $192,833.71). Major disbursements listed include Arrowhead Regional Corrections ($382,776.72) and a McKinstry Essention, LLC payment of $288,876.
The board recorded several loan and funding approvals: a $600,000, 10-year, 0% interest loan to the City of Wrenshall for pre-engineering of water and sewer infrastructure; a $300,000 Economic Development loan to LFD Holdings, LLC (dba Edward Jones) at 4% with a 20-year payback; assignment of $695,110 in 2025 Transfer Station surplus funds for capital projects; and approval of a $50,000 matching payment for SCI Broadband to extend fiber to 503 households and businesses. All of the above were approved by motions carried unanimously.
