Board proclaims National EMS Week; county EMS reports April call data

The Grayson County Board of Supervisors adopted a proclamation May 14 designating May 17–23, 2026 as National Emergency Medical Services Week and recognized the region’s volunteer and career providers.
Phillip Adams of Grayson County Emergency Services thanked the Board for the recognition and reported April call statistics: county agencies answered 293 total calls in Grayson County in April, including 241 EMS calls and 52 fire responses. Adams said there are approximately 94 providers (EMTs, paramedics and trainers) active across local agencies, and noted ongoing training (an EMT class concluding soon) and outreach such as a Ramp Festival event and a Troutdale fundraiser.
Chair Michael S. Hash and County staff presented the proclamation and thanked all agencies for their service. The Board’s proclamation encourages citizens to recognize emergency services personnel and notes EMS’s role in improving patient outcomes.
