At the April 2 work session the sheriff had requested $10,670 for dispatcher raises, $7,300 for a sheriff’s office manager, and $9,150 to fund a part‑time animal control officer in the event of a promotion. Mrs. Edwards told the Board those items were not included in the draft and would raise the budget by $27,120 if added.
Supervisor C.S. "Sandy" Cunningham moved to train the part‑time animal control officer in advance of promotion; Supervisor Michael B. Watson seconded and the motion passed 5‑0. No motions were made to add the dispatcher or manager raises to the budget during the session.
