Council roundup: boat club dumpster agreement, Arbor Day proclamation and Canyon Pipeline event approved

At its May 15 meeting the Huntsville Town Council approved a set of routine and community items, including extension of a dumpster-use arrangement for the Ogden Boat Club, adoption of an Arbor Day proclamation and approval of a special-event permit for a Canyon Pipeline employee recognition barbecue.
Sandy Hunter described the background for a previously agreed arrangement allowing the Ogden Boat Club to use town dumpsters to avoid public dumping at their highway-side bins; the Council voted to formalize that arrangement. The Council also approved Resolution 2025-5-15 proclaiming May 30 as Huntsville’s Arbor Day so the town can maintain its Tree City USA status; the Tree Committee plans to place commemorative plaques honoring three community members.
Deputy Clerk Nikki Wolthuis explained a short-notice application by Canyon Pipeline and recommended adding a time-frame requirement for future short-notice requests; the Council approved the company’s employee event for June 7 with all votes ayes. The Council also approved routine business licenses, water board items and the April bills before adjourning.
