The Redevelopment Agency of Taylorsville City Board on May 21 adopted Resolution No. 25-03, approving a final balanced budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2026. The adopted document updates the tentative budget previously presented and directs about $3.5 million toward Summit Park in the Bennion Point Economic Development Area.
Wayne Harper, Taylorsville’s Economic & Community Development Director, presented the budget during a public hearing, saying revenues had shifted slightly since the tentative budget was approved. When asked whether the identified funds were limited to the Summit Park project area, Harper responded, “yes, as the money must be used in the project area.” The board heard no public comments during the hearing.
Board Member Bob Knudsen moved to adopt Resolution No. 25-03; Board Member Ernest Burgess seconded. City Recorder Jamie Brooks called the roll; votes were recorded as Burgess-yes, Barbieri-yes, Knudsen-yes, Cochran-yes, Harker-yes, and the resolution passed unanimously. The budget becomes effective July 1, 2025, and the $3.5 million allocation is identified for use within the Bennion Point EDA project area as described at the hearing.
The action updates the RDA’s revenues and allocations from the tentative budget and formally places the Summit Park funding within the RDA’s FY2025–26 spending plan. No additional conditions or amendments to the resolution were recorded in the meeting minutes.
