Salem Township supervisors unanimously voted Nov. 19 to delay paving work on Forbes Road until 2026 after receiving notice from the contractor that timing would prevent a proper job this year. The board amended its agenda earlier in the meeting to allow discussion and then voted to defer the project and consider rebidding or retendering next year.
Supervisor Kerry Jobe told the board an email from the paving company arrived that morning and recommended holding off: "we got an e-mail this morning from the company that was to do the Forbes Road paving further delaying the paving that probably wasn't going to happen due to the timing." The board later authorized staff to notify Redstone Paving that it is too late to pave in 2025 and that supervisors will decide whether to move forward in 2026. The motion to notify Redstone Paving passed unanimously.
