Board denies Hageder sewage‑permit appeal, will issue written decision

Salem Township supervisors voted 2–1 on Aug. 20 to deny resident Eric Hageder’s appeal of a sewage permit related to the Athena Drive Lot Consolidation Plan. Solicitor Falatovich said the board will issue a written decision and circulate it to Hageder and other parties; the decision will become a public record.
Hageder objected to board members receiving outside communications after the hearing had closed and said those materials gave others an opportunity to respond that he did not have. He asked, “Why accept the professional's response and not mine?” Solicitor Falatovich explained the board’s procedure options and the legal team’s approach to handling material received after record closure.
Supervisors Bob Zundel and Ken Trumbetta voted to deny the appeal; Supervisor Kerry Jobe voted against the denial. Prior to the vote, Planning Chair Connie Mattei and others raised technical concerns about how test pits, soil analyses and survey marks were recorded in related documentation, which informed the board’s broader discussion but did not change the motion result.
