Salem Township supervisors approved $377,371.29 in expenditures for August during their Aug. 20 meeting, including a $255,488.22 payment identified as a partial draw from multimodal and Automated Red Light Enforcement (ARLE) grant funding. The vote to approve the monthly disbursements was unanimous.
Resident Debbie Perino asked whether the $255,488.22 payment was drawn from the grant and how large the overall award is. Supervisor Kerry Jobe responded, “The Multimodal and the ARLE grant combined are about $950K. This is a partial payment. There is much more work to do. All the traffic signals in Salem Township are being upgraded.” The board did not alter the payment schedule.
The detailed expenditure motion listed fund breakdowns including a General Fund payment of $299,300.41 (of which $255,488.22 is a grant-related payment), payroll of $65,275.96 and smaller disbursements for fire protection, liquid fuels, machinery and sewer revenue. The supervisors did not request further action beyond the normal voucher approval; the meeting record shows no abstentions on the vote.
