Holly Powers of Midwest told the council the contractor "officially started today" on the city's water project and has installed about 200 feet of pipe and placed a fire hydrant near the northern First/Carbon area.
"Contractor officially started today. They got approximately 200 ft of pipe up around carbon and northern first fire hydrant is in," the minutes record as Holly Powers' report. Powers provided the update during the regular business portion of the meeting and did not present a formal timetable beyond the work having started.
The council did not record detailed questions or follow-up motions concerning the contract during the meeting minutes. Residents were reminded later in the meeting by Council Member Lucas Stansbury to be mindful of trenches related to the water project and to contact appropriate city departments with concerns about construction impacts.
