Board warns hangar lessees: return renewals or leases may be terminated

County planning staff told the board that they have not received at least half of the hangar lease renewals. Carlye Hansen said she has not received a significant share of renewal forms and set a deadline: "if those are not back, say by February 28th, then the leases are just terminated." The board did not vote on a policy at this meeting but agreed to review returned leases after that date.
Doug Chapman argued the county should take a stronger approach toward lessees who have not paid or are not using hangars for aviation activities. Staff noted that hangar lease packages have been mailed and that any parties interested in space should contact the courthouse to review the RFP and availability. The board agreed to follow up at the next meeting after the stated deadlines have passed.
