Berrien County board approves consent calendar, moves Best Way Disposal contract and several grants forward

The Berrien County Board of Commissioners approved the Feb. 26 consent calendar after Chairperson Elliott removed Honorary Resolution B2602715 for separate presentation. The consent calendar included items such as weekly bills and road payables, requisition and purchase order change orders, a contract with Best Way Disposal for trash services, an application for an HMEP grant, a contract for HR services with Gallagher Benefits, and acceptance of marijuana education grant funds.
Commissioner David Vollrath moved to approve the consent calendar (excluding the honorary resolution); Commissioner Julie Wuerfel supported the motion. The roll-call resulted in 10 yeas. Commissioner Teri Freehling abstained on Resolution B2602067 specifically for REV Excavating requisitions #83527, #83528 and #83531 "out of an abundance of caution," the board record shows. No nays were recorded and the motion carried.
