Councilmember Colin Topper moved on June 23 to adopt Resolution 08-2026 to approve the Cooperative Wildfire System Agreement with the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands; Councilmember Jason Taylor seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
During discussion staff noted that the City’s contribution of work completed by Rim To Rim Restoration exceeds the participation requirements for the agreement. Councilmember Kaitlin Myers asked about any financial commitment required by the City and staff responded that the in‑kind work satisfies participation levels. The resolution authorizes continued coordination and cooperative wildfire response with the state.
