Township allocates fire tax funds; volunteer department truck due Sept. 23

The Board authorized annual fire tax contributions to Slickville and Forbes Road volunteer fire departments of $35,000 each from the Fire Protection Account.
Adam Bayura, a Forbes Road volunteer firefighter, told supervisors the new truck will arrive Sept. 23, 2025 and noted that the vehicle ordered three years ago cost about $609,000 at that time; he said a similar truck ordered today would cost about $1.15 million, reflecting substantial equipment price inflation. The board also approved distributions from LST and Commonwealth State Aid allocations to the departments (25% of the 2024 LST totaling $35,056; each VFD to receive $17,528; and Commonwealth State Aid totaling $43,779.72 for 2025, with $21,889.86 to each department).
