CIS Trail maintenance plan includes bridge and culvert replacements, annual meeting announced

A volunteer and trail representative reported that the Michigan DNR maintenance plan for the CIS Trail includes replacing three bridges, repairing four bridge tops and replacing seven culverts; Wolverine Pipeline will do replacement work east of Lowell Road and the trail's annual meeting is April 8, 2026.
A representative of the CIS Trail told the Parks and Greenspace Commission on March 13 that Michigan Department of Natural Resources maintenance plans call for multiple bridge and culvert projects along the trail.
Barry Culham reported that the current maintenance schedule includes replacing three bridges, fixing the tops of four additional bridges and replacing seven culverts. Culham also said Wolverine Pipeline will be performing replacement work east of Lowell Road. “Culham additionally reported that Wolverine Pipeline will be doing replacement work east of Lowell Road,” he told commissioners, and he noted the CIS Trail annual meeting on April 8, 2026, and spring clean day on April 25, 2026.
The commission heard the schedule and dates; no formal vote or county-funded commitment was recorded in the meeting minutes.
