The Parks and Greenspace Commission voted March 13 to combine the Universal Access and Health Committees into a single body to coordinate accessibility and health-related programming.
Nicole Fickes moved the consolidation and Pat Jackson seconded the motion. “Moved by Nicole Fickes seconded by Pat Jackson to combine the Universal Access and Health Committees into a single committee to be named the Health and Universal Access Committee,” the record states. The motion carried.
Commissioners discussed collaboration between the two groups to better coordinate outreach while avoiding extra workload for county staff. The merged committee is intended to streamline planning for senior programming, accessible recreation, and related partnerships.
