Stop 42 beach structure: Village steps aside as state reviews site

Caroline Rogers, the owner of the parcel where the structure was built, said she had "applied for a permit with EGLE and the Building Department" and "didn’t know she was doing anything wrong." Building Inspector Bill Lambert said the structure "was permitted to a different address than it was built on," a detail that the council and residents noted as material to how the case is being processed.
The exchange left several open questions about next steps. McCarthy said the Village would wait for the State's determination before taking further municipal action. Lynn and Joel Altschul later returned to the subject during general public comment to express "extreme concern about the structure on the beach at 42." The council did not take a formal vote or issue an enforcement directive at the meeting.
