Tree Board grant, beach prep and summer events highlighted at Michiana meeting

Council heard that the Village has received $7,000 of an $11,500 tree-grant commitment and detailed beach-stop preparations, adopt-a-stop volunteers, and upcoming summer events including a Garden Tour on June 21 and Music on the Green dates in July.
Nancy Thill read a submitted Tree Board report: the Village has received $7,000 of an $11,500 grant commitment and has until the end of August to complete required work. Thill also noted coordination with Grand Beach’s Tree Board and reported that AEP’s line-trim work is complete in the Village.
Brian Cassidy described beach preparations: two garbage cans will remain at beach stops while recycle toters are being removed due to dumping of garbage into recycling; numbered stickers will be placed on toters to help track missing units. The meeting also listed summer events, including an Arbor Day on July 10, a House Walk July 25, Village Party Aug. 16 and Music on the Green dates in July and August.
