Michiana to mail community survey with water bills; separate public safety survey planned

Merritt Engineering continues work on the Creek water project; AEP must finish line protection before a new pump can be installed.
Council member Mike Botelho, reporting for Planning Commission member Julie Bonello, described a community survey to be built by Marcy from Southwest and distributed with water bills in January. Residents will have a code to access the SurveyMonkey form, and hard copies will be available at the village office. The survey is expected to be returned by either Feb. 7 or Feb. 14, and the Planning Task Force will send weekly reminders to encourage participation.
Council member Mike Mumper asked that a separate survey addressing the proposed public safety building be issued later so that exploration of that project can continue on its own timeline; the council agreed. Separately, Mumper reported that Merritt Engineering is preparing the project plan for the Creek water project and noted installation of the new pump is pending AEP placing fiberglass over lines outside the pump house.
